Introduction

A one-day training program on "Disaster response, rescue operations, and vulnerability analysis" was organized by Mountain Forum Himalayas at Gupt Kashi in Rudra Prayag District, Uttarakhand. The program aimed to empower communities with knowledge and skills to handle disasters effectively. Thirty-four members (25 women, 9 men) from 10 villages participated in this training.

Practical Training Highlights

Experts guided participants on how to create improvised stretchers using locally available materials such as poles, blankets, and jackets. Techniques for performing CPR in emergencies were also demonstrated, emphasizing life-saving actions during critical situations.

The program was well-received, with participants expressing gratitude for the valuable information shared. The training successfully equipped attendees with essential skills for disaster response and community resilience building, emphasizing the importance of local resources and collaboration.
